According to a report by Business Insider the OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed that OnePus 8 series smartphones won’t cost more than $1,000 in the US (approximately around Rs 76240). However, he did not confirm the solid price tag but the upcoming 5G series by the company is going to be less expensive than any other 5G enabled devices in the market such as Samsung Galaxy S20. In India, the price of the Samsung’s 5G phone starts at Rs 66,999 for the standard Galaxy S20 model, while the Galaxy S20+ will be available at Rs 73,999 and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will come with a price tag of Rs 92,999. Even though it would be a much affordable option being offered but it would be a bit more expensive than its predecessor. According to him, the high cost is because of few technical changes, he said, “Prices across the supply chain, from raw materials to 5G chips, are all rising generally in the industry.” Very recently Lau also confirmed that OnePlus 8 devices will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC. offering the 5G connectivity paired with LPDDR5 and UFS 3.0 storage for a better performance and transfer rate. Even before this he also revealed that OnePlus 8 is going to feature a display with 120Hz of refresh rate. Separately in a tweet, he also revealed that even before the official launch DisplayMate has awarded the upcoming OnePlus 8 display an A+ grade. The company has conducted an in-depth display test in which the series has earned the highest rating. “DisplayMate’s in-depth Display Shoot-Out for the OnePlus 8 series Smartphones have earned our Highest A+ Display Rating and DisplayMate Best Smartphone Display Awards, with 10+ Display Performance Records including Color Accuracy that is Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect!!” the tweet reads.
