OnePlus rolled out the Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS update for OnePlus 6 users two months back and the company has claimed that almost 92% of the device owners have installed the update. With the update coming to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the handsets would be getting a number of new features. For starters, OnePlus 5T will be getting a new user interface for Android 9.0 Pie that will get new navigation gestures to the device. The reason behind this update being limited to OnePlus 5T is that the handset, unlike OnePlus 5, has a display without a front button. With the update, the Android security patch for November 2018 has also come to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T mobiles. The two handsets have also got optimizations for background app process handling and a new DND (Do Not Disturb) mode. It is worth noticing that users can adjust the settings of the Do Not Disturb mode according to their preferences. The company has added a new emergency rescue feature to the handsets and an optimized UI for speed dial and calling interface. with the new update, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones would allow users to assign a specific SIM contact or group of contacts while they are using the dual SIM feature. If you have dual SIM cards, you will also be able to use the Parallel apps feature in the handsets for apps like Telegram, Uber, Ola and more. Changes have also been made to the Weather app, which will now dynamically switch locations. When using the search function of the device, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T owners will also be able to see more suggestions on the display. The latest update has also fixed certain issues of the smartphone that were reported including the apps being unable to refresh after their location was changed and the inability of the devices to find certain locations.
