Alphabet-owned company has already removed 16 apps and they are looking out for more which might be infected. The malware when deployed in a smartphone starts infecting some of the internal files also and might send ads even after the app is removed or uninstalled. So, it is a good idea to run a malware scan from a known source. Good anti-malware are available on the Play Store, so download one swiftly if your phone has been infected. But before you do this, uninstall the app from your smartphone since Google can not do that for you, they can just wipe them off the Play Store. In case you have any of the above apps on your Android mobile, remove them quickly. A good idea is to put an anti-malware in your mobile after that and scan the device. If that does not solve the problem, you might want to do a factory reset, as the expert’s advice. But that is one-off case, in all likelihood a scan using a good anti-malware will take care of the issue.
